30-40 Migrants Suffocated After Dinghy Reduces Off Libya — IOM




Around 30-40 persons suffocated in the Mediterranean after a dinghy conveying 120-140 Somalis, Sudanese and Nigerians collapsed, bringing on frenzy on board, the International Organization for Migration said in a mailed proclamation on Friday.


The migrants had cruised from Misrata in Libya, however following 6-7 hours their boat started to reduce and a few Persons fell into the water, IOM representative Flavio di Giacomo said in the announcement. There were 91 survivors, he said.

Prior IOM said it had a report of 40-50 persons missing.
