Army Destroys 20,000 Smoked Fish And Rustled Beef Captured From Boko Haram

The 7 Division of the Nigerian Army has destroyed 20,000 cartoons of smoked fish and rustled beef it confiscated from suspected boko haram terrorists in various locations in Borno State.

The Deputy Director Army Public Relations in Maiduguri, Col.Tukur Gusau who made this known in a press release indicated that "the cartoons of dried fish are believed to be siezed from innocent fishermen and businessmen by the terrorists who later sell them at ridiculous amount to finance their terrorists activities.

He appealed to the public to continue to support Operation LAFIYA DOLE by promptly reporting any suspicious movement of persons or vehicles loaded with supplies meant for boko haram terrorists enclaves in their area to the nearest security agencies.

Col. Tukur Gusau stated that consequent upon this, the Nigerian Army in its collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies will continue to pursue and destroy all terrorirists logistic chains and supply routes untill peace and security is restored in the North East.

In another development, the 7 Division Nigerian Army will host the Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSMs) Convention 2015 scheduled to take place between 6-9 September. The event which is an annual event in the Nigerian Army ,will take place at the Youth Centre, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri by 8: am daily.

The Theme of this years convention is " Enhancing The Capacity of The RSMs To Be Professionally Responsive in The Discharge of Their Roles".

Acording to Col, Tukur Gusau Deputy Director Army Public Relarions , The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai will declare the event open on Monday 7 September 2015 by 9am, while Governor Kashim Shettima is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.

Resource persons drawn from the military and the academia will deliver lectures carefully designed to tackle the theme of the convention.

The convention is meant to enhance the capacity of the RSMs towards effective unit administration in the Nigerian Army, participants of the convention will be soldiers in the rank of Army Warrant Officers, Master warrant Officers who are holding the appointment of Regimental Sergeant Majors ( RSMs) in Nigerian Army's formations and units across the nation.
