3 Died In A Ghastly Accident

A ghastly accident that occurred on the Bawdie-Wassa Akropong road in the Western Region involving a Sprinter mini bus on Thursday morning claimed three lives.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that the accident happened at a village known as Adaamanso, about 300 metres from Wassa Akropong.

According to reports, the Sprinter mini bus with registration number AS 881-14 was carrying about 15 passengers when the accident occurred.

Sources had it that one of the rear tyres of the vehicle burst on reaching Adaamanso and the vehicle somersaulted several times before landing in a ditch, killing the three on the spot.

An eyewitness, Richard Alex Frimpong, told DAILY GUIDE that the deceased were two males, including an eight year old boy, and a female.

He indicated that the police who rushed to the scene managed to convey the deceased to the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital morgue and the injured, numbering about 12, to the same hospital.

He noted that the impact of the accident was severe that the vehicle was partially damaged.

“One female, who was alleged to be the mother of the driver and two males including a small boy, died on the spot,” he said.

He added that about 12 passengers and the driver were in critical condition and were sent to the Wassa Akropong hospital for treatment.
