Previews: Barcelona And Real Madrid Remain On Top La Liga Table After Comfortable Wins

Luis Suarez and Neymar each scored to help Barcelona remain on top of La Liga table after dispatching Getafe 2-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Saturday.

Suarez fired the Catalans in front eight minutes before the break, collecting a fine Sergio Roberto back-heeled pass before slotting into onrushing Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita's near post.

Neymar spectacularly made his mark in the 58th minute, first-time volleying a perfectly-weighted Roberto long ball past a helpless Guiata with his left foot.

The South American duo have accounted for the last 14 of Barcelona's league goals over the past seven games.

The three points give Barca 24 points on the season, level with arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Real Madrid kept pace with Barca at the head of the table after comfortably beating struggling Las Palmas 3-1 at the Bernabeu earlier in the day.

Isco gave Rafael Benitez's side a dream start by opening the scoring after just four minutes and then Cristiano Ronaldo's diving header 10 minutes later doubled their advantage.

Las Palmas pulled a goal back through Hernan Santana later in the half but just before the break Jese restored Madrid's two-goal lead with a fine individual effort.

With a gruelling set of fixtures coming up, including clashes with Paris St. Germain, Sevilla and arch-rivals Barcelona, it was important that Madrid came through this game unscathed, both in terms of points and injuries.

Levante remain rooted to the foot of the Primera Division after suffering defeat against local rivals Valencia on Saturday night.

With only one win to their name heading into the derby not much would have been expected from the visitors at the Mestalla, and the match went to form as Nuno Espirito Santo's side went sixth with a 3-0 win.

Paco Alcacer's penalty just after the hour set Valencia on their way to victory and strikes from Sofiane Feghouli and Zakaria Bakkali wrapped up an impressive victory for the hosts.
