Police Apprehend 50-Year Old Man For Raping 13-Year-Old Girl



There has been an increasing numbers of rape in recent time as police of Ogun State Command arrested a 50-year-old man, Joseph Sunday, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old-girl in Ilaro, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.  The victim who was on her way to fetch water was waylaid by the accuse and dragged to an uncompleted building in Abule Taju area of the town where he sexually abused her. Sunday was arrested by the police after the mother of the girl filed a report against him. Confirming the incident was the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi who said that the accused was arrested , he confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Confirming the incident was the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi who said that the accused was arrested , he confessed to the crime during interrogation.




In his words, “The policemen at the station where the case was reported immediately arrested the man. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.”
He furthered that the state commissioner of police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
Illiyau urges parents to monitor and take care of their children so that they will not be victims of evil men’s devilish plot.
